Now let’s take a look at Angel’s tips for looking great and shopping at Goodwill!
Hello everyone, I’m happy to be back with a new post for Goodwill Industries of the Valleys. One of my tips when browsing a thrift store for clothing is to shop for single pieces versus complete outfits. That way you’re adding items you can mix into your current wardrobe. And ladies, don’t be locked down by shopping just in the women’s section. Sometimes you can find great pieces in the men’s section close to your size.
Since it’s still winter, I thought it would be good to give you some style ideas of what you might be able to piece together at your local Goodwill store while the weather is still cold. As always, a quick visit to your favorite tailor for a trim can take that new thrifted item from OK to Fabulous.
Angel’s unique view of the world is ever-evolving. Born in Central America, Angel immigrated to the U.S. with his mother and sister as a child. He gained broadcasting experience as a radio show host and production assistant in Virginia before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he spent six years experiencing many parts of the world. He returned to the South after his enlistment to focus on his real passion — capturing street style in a part of the country that often gets fashionably overlooked.
Angel is the premier street style photographer and blogger in the South of Virginia. In addition to curating the Angel’s Point of View blog, Angel shoots street style for The Roanoke Times. His attention to detail, photographic narratives, and fashion expertise keeps his readers wanting for more.
When Angel isn’t persuing the southern streets for standout style or attending fashion week shows, you’ll find him involved in an assortment of activities. Whether it’s organizing Southwest Virginia’s next PechaKucha, or gearing up for the Annual Roanoke Tweed Run bicycle ride, an event he founded in 2011, you can be sure there’s never a dull moment with Angel.
