Mark Your Calendar and Help Three Local Organizations on One Day!

There are amazing people throughout our communities doing amazing things.  Last night one such group was highlighted on Roanoke’s WDBJ7 News.  Take a moment and watch…

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is coming to the Roanoke Valley on April 10, 2010 at Roanoke’s Green Hill Park.  Wendi Schultz, a Goodwill community volunteer, is the local Race Chair.  It is an opportunity for the community to come together and raise awareness and critical research funding for breast cancer.

So what is the GOOD NEWS and what does it have to do with Goodwill?

“G-Force” has just registered to be a part of this wonderful event.  What is “G-Force”?  It is the Goodwill team of course!  We will be out in force on April 10th helping support another fabulous community cause.  But you will also see Goodwill represented in another way at the Race.

A collaboration between Susan G. Komen Greater Roanoke Race for the Cure, the Girl Scouts, and Goodwill will help those participating on April 10th “Go Green”.  Bring your gently used clothing, shoes, household items, or anything didn’t make it through “Spring Cleaning” and support “Bag It Up!”.

So join Goodwill, the Girl Scouts, and the Susan G. Komen Greater Roanoke Race for the Cure on Saturday, April 10th.  You can enjoy the day with friends and family, benefit three great organizations, and help our children “Imagine a Life without breast cancer”.  For more information on Bag It Up visit www.goodwillvalleys.com/press_events.html.
